Hi everyone!
My name is Leslie Barrs and I am really looking forward to taking this class, LIS 768. Computer-savvy is definitely not a word I would use to describe myself, so I am ready to learn all there is to know about the world of library 2.0.
This is my last semester of classes before I graduate. I’m hoping to work in a public library after graduation in the adult services department, but with the state of the economy, I’ll take what I can get. Currently I work part-time in the adult services department at Shorewood-Troy Public Library in south suburban Shorewood. From what I learn in this class, I would love to make our library’s web page much more interactive– it’s pretty much the bare essentials right now… but after our morning session, I want to do it all! Drupal sounds absolutely fascinating to me, as well as blogging between departments and patrons. I’m so excited to learn more!
So anyways, about me: I love water-skiing, the Lord of the Rings books, football (go Bears!), watching Grey’s Anatomy, Civil War trivia, and Bon Jovi! Oh, and the picture below is of me and my dog, Layla, at one of Lake Michigan’s beaches this past summer– we love long walks on the beach.
