Thanks for this post! I've been confused about Google Chrome so far, but you've done a great job of outlining how it works and how it is specifically applicable to libraries! I admit to having privacy and security concerns about cloud computing--but I suppose, at its best, it could be like a safe-deposit box: an off-location storage site that is actually safer than "underneath the mattress." I'd be interested to hear more about your experiences using Chrome!

I wrote a comment and it disappeared!

This is a fascinating group of books to pull together. It might yield some interesting and useful ideas. Your questions at the end would be great for part of the paper.

PS: I heart my iPhone too!

Good stuff. You outline some fascinating issues to explore. Your last few sentences are a perfect outline for this think-piece.

Funny, isn't it? I thought I was quite tech-savvy too, lucky to have been born/grow up exactly as computing took off. I was at the right age/in the right environment to teach myself everything, beginning with Number Munchers on an Apple-IIe on up through word processing, Prodigy, e-mail, AOL chat, Napster, webjournals, the blogosphere, and social networking. But it's suddenly moving so fast! They do say technology grows exponentially.

Now that all of us LIS768-ers are connected, though, how much easier it will be to keep abreast and help each other out!

I also look forward to learning about Second Life, Twitter, and Tumblr. Second Life in particular--talk about a great environment for the socially awkward! :)

Cute kitty!
